The successful Thrive Yorkshire Conference is back again for the fourth time and has moved to the fabulous Kings Hall & Winter Gardens on 14 Sept. The growing speaker and networking event is organised by the Ilkley Business Forum (IBF), a not-for-profit organisation with which BADCOT is affiliated – meaning BADCOT members can buy tickets at the discounted price of £15 which includes lunch!

Aimed at SMEs across Yorkshire, the event is a full day of learning, with four exceptional-quality Yorkshire-based speakers, and five workshop leaders – who will share practical tools, tips, and strategies on how to grow your business. We’re also delighted to announce that Stray FM have once again agreed to be our Key media sponsor and will be providing live coverage.


Our Keynote Speaker is William Rogers the Managing Director of UKRD Group, which our key sponsor Stray FM belongs to. UKRD Group have won ‘The Best Company’ to work for 4 years in a row – No 1 in The Times Top 100. He will share some of the things that have led the group to this success.

We’re also excited to welcome back Ruth Whiteley from Impact Sales, whose workshop was very popular last year. Ruth will be talking about her time on ‘The Apprentice’ and the key things she learnt during the process, as well as some more of her infamous sales and business tips for success.

Once again we’re delighted to have another inspirational, young local entrepreneur speaking, Joe Shrimpton as part of the line up. Joe who attended Ilkley Grammar School will be talking about his success and how he set up his companyExtreme Lounging’.

Finally, we’re excited to have Gavin Patterson, from Valeria Olive Oil, with us from the recent BBC series ‘Second Chance Summer’. Gavin, also from Ilkley, will tell us his business story, his key learnings from his time on the programme and how it’s never too late to follow your dreams!

Craig Burton from ‘The Works’ who will lead a workshop on “Having the right attitude in business to succeed” Craig will look at personality types and give practical tips on how to succeed in business using your key personality traits.

Sarah Tulip from ‘AQL’ who will lead a workshop on ‘Empowering women to achieve’. Sarah is a Strategic Leader with over 15 years experience of Business, Leadership & Talent Acquisition.
