We enjoyed wine and beer from Garibaldi’s, a BADCOT member, with lunch prepared by another member, the Red Lion pub, as well as lots of introductions and chatting!
As part of the AGM, we swore in for another year our committee members Chris Hunt, Angela Pickard, Les Cousins, Roger Charnley, Danny Schofield and Jane Cameron. Later, Andrew Reynolds, of Burley Fisheries, offered to join the committee also. Many thanks to them all for their hard work and commitment.
We’d like to point out we still have vacancies on the BADCOT committee, so would welcome any more offers of help from existing members.
We further appealed to members to:
a) complete the BADCOT survey (please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you haven’t received)
b) volunteer to help with our stand at the Summer Festival, Sun 20 August from 11am and
c) volunteer to help as a steward or organiser for the 2017 Burley Christmas Market, 2 December.
We also highlighted BADCOT’s community contributions of nearly £4,000 over the last decade to the Burley Christmas Lights Fund and the £400 recently given for the junior cricket pitch at Scalebor Park.
